The Common Loon lives on lakes and waterways throughout Canada, the northern US, and along the souther coast of Greenland and Iceland. They are master divers, capable of diving 200ft down to catch prey. The Common Loon was made the state bird of Minnesota in 1961

Kawa akago are a type of #yokai from #JapaneseFolklore believed to be related to kappa. They appear as red-skinned babies, lurking in the reeds near waterways. They cry out, sounding exactly like a real baby, to lure passers-by closer to the water's edge.
