For #FossilFriday, today is the 1 year anniversary of our paper reporting the respiratory infection paper in #Dolly the 🦕 ! How has it been a year already?! From numerous news outlets to even an upcoming documentary, our sick #Dolly has been getting a ton of great attention!
Five years ago yesterday saw the start of the NHM's "Dippy on Tour" campaign that launched at Dorset Museum. I did a big Diplodocus #paleoart mural for the exhibition and was invited to opening events to chat dinosaurs with the press, esp. BBC radio. #FossilFriday
Mars... Cosmic fossil...
It is said that mankind will colonise the planet this century.🌌
Would you like to live on Mars and is it worth it? 🤔

The #Candeleros has a diverse fossil record of small animals. Primitive legged snakes, turtles, and small mammals have all been discovered in these rocks. The 1.5 meter #Buitreraptor likely exploited these as food.
All illustrated below by @StievenVdP and sold by @studio252mya.
@Izuvthesqrll We are "reading the library" thru a keyhole for sure! Subduction is only 1 of 10,000 reasons we can't see the complete fossil record.
But we now have a hundred different keyholes.
A little fossilsaurus sketch!
Do not copy/use/repost my art! Thank you~
Curious about about the @SEBiology Experimental Palaeobiology - Bringing Fossils "Back to Life" logo and all the cool science behind? here is a thread to show you the crazy stuffs that can be done by palaeontologists using experimental approaches👀⬇️ https://t.co/qeKjKMHImk
[Thread] Old sophonts from a small project I never finished - People of the Past
Basically past earth sophonts that simply never fossilized/left any trace that they existed (tools, homes, sophont stuff)
#specevo
Gladiusfacies, literally translating to “sword face” is a genus of #Phorusrhacidae ( the aptly titled #Terrorbirds ) that used to hunt in forests and woodlands in the #Miocene epoch.
Ps: this is a #speculativeevolution idea and no real #fossils like this creature has been found
Maaradactylus in its "Precise" version
The one from JWE2 has the correct skull, it shows that they did use the real fossil to make their design.
#FossilFriday Just about to resubmit a manuscript with @MannArjan on this beautiful interclavicle and sternum of Aelurognathus. Prep by @KelsieAbrams3, drawing by @soojeong_shin #gorgonaissance @Synapsida
