Capcom expressed interest in using her for their fighting game adaptation, so Hirohiko Araki redesigned her for it.

Despite this becoming the main look of the character, it was disregarded for the anime adaptation.

I can't say I was that excited for the upcoming Muv-Luv Alternative TV anime adaptation, but I didn't think one of the costs would be completely doing away with the signature hairstyles of Meiya and Sumika for it. All the seiyuu being recast felt inevitable though, sadly.
