@FirstProgenitor Pyra’s character artist also made Celica for the FE awakening DLC which looks a lot like Pyra and is also not good. Hidari made up for their sins when designing Celica for Echoes

@deerlordhunter Fire Emblem Shadows of Valentia nailed it, too! Somehow, that game's character artist (Hidari) managed to make fullbody character illos that were also perfect for menu portraits. He's a genius.

I finished! Tried to copy Hidari's style somewhat. Please point out areas to improve and suggestions as to how :). Don't think I'll have time to do gesture drawing, but something to look forward to for tomorrow.

Another attempt at copying the style. I think I'm going to work on replicating the eyes a bit more, then I might try doing some fanart in Hidari's style, which could be fun :)
I have been trying to copy Hidari's art style, since I loved his illustrations for Shadows of Valentia. It's also helping me work out some general proportions and rules of thumb for some of my own stuff, and helping me work out how I should structure a piece.
