Thought I'd do some painting today in the garden of the studio, oil study on oil primed board, 18 x 24 cm, really hot day so grateful to be in the shade.

I went back to a virtual plein air painting and cleaned it up. The previous painting was too busy, so u simplified the shapes and color scheme.

Painted this sunset view outside my home. The sun was setting fast so I took a photo that I later used as reference to refine the painting. This was done back in March when I rediscovered oils.

Here’s a piece painted in the bright sunshine near It was the cottages and farm buildings that caught my attention and the cool cast shadows and light.
Worked a bit larger with this one which is an 11” x 14”, oil on gesso board.
