This is total guesswork, but I have a feeling this concept art of 'Anachronia' (Land Out of Time / Fossil Island) is actually re-used from RS NEXT GEN / Aurora.

Thinking about how Pyukumuku is not only likely a reference to the Sea Bunny cucumber, but possibly also a reference to one of the famous fossilized soft organisms from the legendary Burgess Shale discovery, Wiwaxia Corrugata!

Most birds in are at least T. rex sized so I imagine the Plantars won't be terribly impressed by the fossils on Earth. After all they've got bones like that just lying around everywhere

The Tumblagooda also includes one body fossil, 4. the Silurian arthropod Kalbarria. I have a giant soft spot for arthropods so this one had to go in. The simplified Diplichnites trackways I've drawn here probably belong to something similar to Kalbarria too.

Fin Fossil->Finlittle(Dark,Fighting)->Riprift(Dark,Fighting)

They are very fast swimmers and have rough skin covered in spikes and fins. The Finlittles and Riprifts with the biggest fin on its head are seen as the most intimidating.

Obviously, my favorite lizards are mosasaurs. I'm particularly fond of Plotosaurus, having the opportunity to work with its fossils here on the West Coast. It's quite the fishy boi possessing highly aquatic morphology compared to other mosasaurs.

Fang Fossil->Cubtaminated(Ground,Ghost)->Tartooth(Ground,Ghost)

These Pokemon's bodies are covered in tar, as the fang fossil was discovered in tar pits. Because of this, it causes them to take on a much different appearance than most fossil Pokemon.

I haven't given up! Instead of Fossil Fighters, I decided to do Disc Creatures! I haven't played this one, but I'd like to. Here's Tornadowl!
