Dryads are wood nymphs and specifically the nymphs of oak trees. They are very shy and non-violent and are never far from their individual tree. Unless they are surprised then they can disappear by stepping into a tree.

I used to draw horses (and unicorns) a ton as a kid and teenager. Over the last few years, I realized they've kind of evolved into my dryad deer.
