Sue is the largest, most extensive & best preserved Tyrannosaurus Rex specimen ever found at over 90% recovered. It was discovered in August 1990, by Sue Hendrickson, & is named after her. The fossil was auctioned for $8.3 million, the most ever paid for a fossil.

The sister of Cicely Mary Barker ran a kindergarten and the little children became Cicely's much loved models. She painted the plants from life and if she couldn't find the specimen needed, it was often provided by Kew Gardens staff.
