-set up palette
-trace the major, then the buildings one by one (this)
-go back over each element doing cleanups and dithering

Slightly. When turning the png into a gif dithering tends to blur out some shading to make for a smoother transition. For example this is the original png of the gif above

I am thinking of a low-res tool that would use dithering as a texture. It could produce interesting art style. This one for example feels like some 3D ASCII RPG.

This uses a custom dithering algorithm. From far away you can't notice but it's meant to be experienced 1:1.

This was an experiment with conveying terror, there's nothing really scary about this character. But the lighting, textures, colors and off-putting gaze make you feel like something is wrong. This was pretty fun, and I got to experiment with this new dithering style!

i wanted to draw reimu in pc-98 style but forgot to use 18-bit colour palette so it's not *true* pc98 art but at least it's 640x400px & 16 colours only
had fun overall but dithering is HARD and i probably did it wrong in many places
