I was just out of art school, afraid to draw men and backgrounds, I didn't know how to color digitally. I had no confidence in myself.
15 years of hard work, practicing and improving, making mistakes, growing as a an artist. It's not a talent thing.

I see going around and let me say

When I first started doing art, I'd take hours upon hours for a bust, shading was completely incorrect, I couldn't actually draw full bodies, and wouldn't even think about backgrounds

Joining in What I'm most proud of this year is the work I've done of original characters, as well as more complicated backgrounds. There's 4 different characters of mine here: Dan (top middle), Willa (middle left), Sam (bottom left) and Arthur (bottom right).

I tried to use character designs that midjourney gave me, but honestly I thought mine and Mara's were better-suited to the story. (left v2, right v4 of MJ)
It was difficult to find backgrounds that worked with the style, but I think I managed it.

I didn't start my digital art journey until 2019.. Before then- all of my work was traditional ink. I had to teach myself color theory, backgrounds, anatomy, etc. I would lock myself in my office at my normal day job and just watch tutorials all day lol
