it's really neat to me how the sonic adventure artwork has a rather similar shading style to a lotta more cartoony SNES game artwork
with the kinda basic airbrush shading that cuts off just before the edge of the shape, they just make it a bit cooler and add more bounce light

So recently i had someone ask as to how i shade my hair and with that i wanted to make this. Hopefully this does help out.

1.) hairstyle of choice
2.) use a dark gradient for top and bottom
3. use airbrush for the hair.
4.) darken a bit and use brighten for lighting

if you're doing it digitally, layering progressively lighter shades of gold in the direction of the shine, starting at a dark shade
i use an airbrush tool, then blur
good enough for my own purposes but i'm sure there are more in-depth ways of doing it
