So for the jay I went back to SAI, exported every single color layer as its own .png (glad I kept every color on its own layer in the first place! thanks past me!), path->trace bitmapped each one individually in inkscape, then assembled them. Definitely cleaner results.

I couldn't get the materials working and the bomb looked kind of funny without them. I'm sure there's some box I didn't mark when exporting the .objs from ZBrush.
I learned a lot in this process, so here's to more 3D shizz!
