Experimenting with a simplistic new style of color.

1. Style following Arthur Tien's Monster Prom rendering.
2. Using 3-layered halfing rule. Exception for the eyes.
3. Hotter highlights, colder shadows.

Bottom left,I mix colors to make a palette and I mainly color pick from there. This helps me keep my color palette harmonious. I can add more color to my swatch and test it so I know how it looks in my subject(blue rocks). I use this method to as an assist,not a rule

Today I went down the greyscale rabbithole and learned that there IS a difference between all the methods below:
1. Black layer over picture set to 'color' mode
2. Desaturate through color options
3. Setting picture to greyscale
4 (original picture)

The next stage in my process is to bring the thumbnail into Photoshop. I’ll reduce the opacity and draw over it to work out the drawing. The values I add in this stage are just to make sure everything works.
