Died February 22, 1875, Charles Lyell, the advocate of geology. His argument that the present geological forces can explain the past revolutionized #geology. He also popularized this young science & influenced generations of geologists, like Darwin https://t.co/ayl0PXt1lB
The Fight for Life. Artist Otto Marseus van Schrieck (1620-78) was fascinated by the violence & beauty of plants & animals that survived on the bottom rung of nature’s ladder. 200 years before Darwin, he believed he could show, "God’s almighty finger in the anatomy of a louse”
Reworked the Hestia uniform (and gave Collier a utility belt) and also FINALLY figured out Darwin's face after like 2 years
Spot illustrations for an article by Nautilus titled “Darwin Was a Slacker and You Should Be Too”.
"Crisp contours and sharply contrasting colours create a remarkable sense of layered distance between the nearest rocky crags, the glaciers behind, then the final summits beyond."

I’m just a tad late to the party, but here’s some #walkingwhales for #DarwinDay! Working out designs for the animation I’m putting together for Honors in Studio Art. Pictured here are Indohyus, Pakicetus, Ambulocetus, Kutchicetus, Rodhocetus, and Georgiacetus. #paleoart
Y aquí lo dejamos (que bonito capítulo del podcast podría haber salido con todo esto...). Seguro que hay muchísimas más ¿conoces alguna?

Today is #DarwinDay and it is also #PterosaurPtuesday so I thought it was the perfect chance to show you part of the trees of the tetrapods of theSolnhofen Formation from Germany that will appear on my in-prep book. Part of the pterosaur tree from Solnhofen #paleoart #sciart
It's #DarwinDay, which is all the excuse I need to post this #paleoart of the large aquatic sloth Thalassocnus. Darwin never knew of this species or the awesomeness of aquatic sloths in general, but he recovered many bones of other large and giant extinct sloths in his travels.
Happy #DarwinDay! Our Featured #Book in Store is 'On the Origin of Species: Young Readers Edition' by @RebeccaStefoff & Charles Darwin @SimonSchusterCA 💕📚 https://t.co/WtFcBxaVCB #ReadIndie #ThinkIndie #ShopIndie

Today is #DarwinDay2019 which marks the 210th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth and is used to celebrate and promote science. Here are three drawings from "The zoology of the voyage of H.M.S. Beagle" (1839), edited by Darwin. thanks to @BioDivLibrary https://t.co/euHfCcGgR1
Hopefully not too late for #SundayFishSketch. I randomly picked the Paraliparis darwini, a deep water fish first discovered and described by Stein et al. off Galapagos archipelago. #scicomm #sciart #fishsci #fisheries.
