I am dismayed by the affairs that John Kricfalusi misconducted, which became news 3 years ago, and I respect concerns for abuse in the toon biz, but I am even more upset by the cancel culture on John K. Many great artists worked w/him.

I think about the limits between appreciation and fetishization a lot, and in regards to my work how (or even if) I can celebrate one without feeding into the other, which I think is harmful. Its hard to discuss tho, as it's a touchy conversation that can easily be misconstrued🤔

iginio argued that older children nowadays weren't interested in cartoons so it has to be done. this is obviously a big misconception as kids AND adults are still interested in animated series which is seen through the popularity of various modern cartoons.
