i've been reading The Hobbit and quite surprise that it's a much easier read than i expect. But somehow i'm finding it hard to stay focus these recent days and i sketch these instead

My titled "Sleeping Smaug" (watercolor on paper, 42x59,4 cm - A2, 2016, SOLD), based on "the Hobbit" by Luckily, I've finished this before the second Hobbit movie, so this dragon is just mine - not a copy of any kind.

One thing I'm curious is if alongside the prosthetics, they will also use some movie magic to make Colin Farrell appear shorter for Penguin, like with Gimli and the hobbits in LOTR.

John Rhys-Davies is 6′1″ and yet you would never be able to tell when he's playing Gimli.

Lord Elrond. (It's a commission piece so I put a watermark there.)

I love Rankin Bass' stuff, the design of Smaug in The Hobbit is a fave, it's not what you'd expect from a typical dragon design with it incorporating feline features and fur but that's what I like about it.

I made some Hobbit things! Here's Bilbo and Thorin. Coming soon: LOTR.
