In the same way that the majority of Peter’s hair is black with a few thin streaks of brown to indicate shading or a glossy texture, I always saw the “blue and black” sections as being the same. I’m glad that more modern comics have finally figured out how to do it correctly.

Lastly I keep correcting and tying up loose ends. In the case of Gaze I worked in the ear, added the gold pupils, and added to the hair. Once this fully dries I'll be able to varnish it! I use the satin varnish by Gamblin since it's a good middle between matte and glossy

The more detailed style along with the metallic/glossy/energy materials on semi-humanoid animals is what does it, I think.
