We did use grease pencil for the outline around Copper's eyes in an early version of the model, but now his eyes are made entirely with shaders and geometry with black outlines

the base is a torus knot geometry. the custom shader generates a pattern by combining two different sinusoidal patterns. this pattern will blend the colors and generate the "signal"

I think I need to tweak the eyes and brows a bit more but that’ll probably be the hardest cuz symmetry
