FF: Roraek is a lot more than just a Tuffle Sabre Cat. He is an Artificial Lifeform created a fossilized Sabre Tooth Tiger and Synthesized portions of Dr. Durio’s flesh. Thanks to this, Durio in essence created what he considers to be his Scientific Masterpiece.

Well they're not fossils, but we've already got a mammoth, and those things only went extinct 3700 years ago. At this rate, there'll be human-based Fossil Pokemon a few generations from now lol. Now that I think about it, a Neanderthal Pokemon would actually be pretty awesome.

Some parts of the skeleton are very rare in the fossil record. The hand remains of Homo naledi, including this articulated specimen, tell us much about the tool-using potential of this species, while suggesting it was a great climber.

It's

We met this "fish" in last week's episode...FUN FACT: Pachyrhachis Problematicus has been giving scientists exactly as much trouble as the name implies. There are only 2 known specimens, & no one seems to know just where in the fossil record they should go!

One of these days I’ll start doing prep research and using proper anatomy refs like a good palaeoartist, but for now I’m really enjoying recklessly smashing out Thylacoleo sketches with no theoretical basis other than “big boofy head, buck teeth, highly pattable”

For here’s Barbara Jones’ ‘Life-size models of Jurrasic reptiles in the grounds of the Crystal Palace, Sydenham’ (1942). Part of the Recording Britain series, the painting is just one of many that was designed to foster a sense of national unity in wartime.

I've just finished a couple more illustrations; an (bar 10mm) and an (bar 20mm). These are based on cone specimens presented in Kunzmann et al, 2004, from the Crato Formation.

Finally some progress on Egario Fossil Pokémon!
Both of them kinda have an illusion pattern effect...

Some fossils can become pyrite, a form of mineral mistaken with gold. This happens mostly to precrambrian fossils, like ammonites and trilobites, so I made this of & with pyrite shells, both are water/steel type

A 900,000-year-old fossil fragment from Kenya stuck out as too small and too late for African H. erectus. A new study suggests it looks most like earlier Dmanisi H. erectus and Could this be a H. naledi ancestor? https://t.co/NRC91eYTBu

since hair can't be preserved in fossils we can't rule out the possibility that Fossil Pokemons looked like this

Hi! I’m Shanley and I guess I like to draw anatomy and fossils. Happy !

Some fossil skulls have an important place in understanding the variation of extinct species. Stw 505 is a large Australopithecus africanus skull, helping to show that big individuals had brains that overlapped in size with the larger-brained Homo.

Fun fact, the Kalos Fossil Pokemon, Aurorus, from the Sail Fossil, is based on the Dinosaur Amargasaurus, and not just any bronto or apato or whatever. The resemblance is quite canny here with the sail on it's back as well as other characteristics + it's name.
