I bring this all up, because, in the SF3 dev notes Q is not always in control & in his animations, we see him at times lash out. I've seen him described as Frankenstein's monster. I could see Doug getting all the weird motions, but then bringing in sorrow, then turn fearsome.

In case you think I'm being hyperbolic when I say the sprite art in SF3 is as good as classical art, let me assure you I'm DEAD SERIOUS. This is some incredibly complex color theory. Every color in the sprite's palette is what an experienced painter would have laid down on canvas

This pose is SO RAD. Makoto's every frame is as masterful as a classical painting. Not even kidding. I believe her sprite set is the zenith of pixel art. Every single pixel matters. Every detail is meaningful and delightful. And her animation is unrivaled!

AWWWWRRRRIIIIITE! Here's Makoto's turning animation in slow motion, playing in the proper order. She's always careful to maintain a firm, strong base in every frame. She always feels so SOLID.

Alright, here it is again. Makoto's turning animation, raw pixels. Ahhhhhh so much WEIGHT and FORCE in everything that she does! SO GOOD!

OH MY GOODNESS I COMMITTED AN ENORMOUS SIN. The previous gifs are all playing BACKWARDS!!! Here's Makoto's turn animation in the proper order. God it looks even better! AHHHHH

Here's Makoto's turning animation looped in slow motion. Savor every frame! It's so good!

And of course, here is Makoto's turning animation, with (simulated) scanlines and corrected aspect ration AS GOD INTENDED.

For your viewing pleasure, here is Makoto's turning animation in a loop! Raw dot art for all you pixel pushing purists out there!

OK! Actually the full sprite rips made by (bless you good sir) that have been available for years actually DO have the turn animations! It's just that no one's turned them into animated gifs!

And even then his hair changes for the big forms in SF3. It's just the noise changes that let him keep his normal hair (and not all of them), but they also only change like half his armor. They're like semi-forms I guess.

Personally, I picked up SF2 years ago. Liked it, so tried other titles. After seeing 3S, I've been hooked ever since. A dream of mine is to make a SF3 style character someday

Quick experiment to see what Ryu's SF3 sprite (left) would look like if it had been optimized for square pixels from the beginning (right).

Street Fighter V is getting Dan, Rose, (SFZ) Oro (SF3) and Akira (Rival Schools).

Dan is first, while the rest will appear in updates between winter of 2020 and autumn 2021.

Also here is a size comparison to CvS, SF3, and my original style.

One day I would make something that’s reminiscent to CPS3 game.
(Like SF3’s and Red Earth’s visuals for an example)

2. Favorite Character
Necro from SF3. Honestly, he is more than just a Dhalsim rip-off. Honorable mention includes: American Mcgee's Alice, Bayonetta, Medic from TF2, Faust from Guilty Gear and Manny from Grim Fandango.
