this was also a brush test but i might just stick to solid lines, twitter doesn't seem to like opacity with my canvas sizes

i use the first one for lines and color like u see in this drawing / everything i draw lol (with the opacity down) but if u like a smoother look i use the gouache one sometimes, they’re both in the painting section

How I do shading: just with full black, and changing opacity. Doing multiple layers for the deeper shading (shadow on shadow parts).

I usually finish with highlights and ‘light edges’. I just add shading what feels right, and looks ok. I’m not going for realistic anyway…

Refraction Weightでどうにかしているのかと思ったら、Cutout Opacityだけでどうにかしていた。

A quick doodle I did to test and demonstrate an opacity brush line style for a friend.

My anime style is completely undeveloped, so pardon the total lack of nuance.

I'll just draw the usual 3/4 headshots to remember
the huge difference that increasing the size of the basic round brush and turning pressure control on the opacity makes

Oh yeah I painted for the first time in ages too and tried another method today. Just the regular pen at 80 some opacity makes a world of difference

2. With a dark, not so saturated purple I do the soft shadows with airbrush, then lower opacity to my desired % in a multiply layer

3. With a dark, not so saturated magenta I do the solid shadows, with a diluted watercolor brush again in another multiply layer (3/4)

A quick preview of the three.js pathtracer material progress! Metalness, opacity, and glossiness are just about done. Still some work to go on transmission, emission, and alpha cutout, though. Demo soon!

Start w ur basic base color, spray some soft airbrush on it w a lighter color, give it an asimetric form w hard airbrush, low the opacity :3

Another version where Wilbur is a bit transparent
It doesn't even look like I lowered the opacity lmao o(-(

For this one specifically, I have grey overlays at XX% opacity to help create the rainy day feel by 'dulling' the colours... I use things like layer masks to erase line work outside of panel borders without truly erasing it...

yes I love using filters and opacity to mix colors 🤘
