I kinda love this painting. There is just something about it. The relaxed pose, the cool light from the window, the subtle warms of the underpainting adding life to the image.

I'm behind on paint again- here's a just done of Turtle Dove in elder from week before last. I decided to underpaint the whole thing the colour of an elderberry first and then rack the goods in on top, so there's plenty of purple bits showing through in strange places.
