I think the worst part is I never know when to stop when detailing and I end up spending too much time on a small part and leaving the others blank
And i have trouble starting with colors and not do grayscale first

Here’s the process for that alien shaman commission. Initial sketch, flat colors, colorized grayscale (not sure what to call that step of the process) and finished colors. I love drawing these sort of weird characters.
