Creating a Hillshading image (3d surface) from Points which have Height and Sea Depths. The Colours are a stretch from -500 to 300 which is why the 'river is green'

It's a case of convergent evolution.

These guys are only related in the distant past, but if you wanna fly, you gotta have a broad surface that gives you lift, right? And because these dudes DID all share a common ancestor, adapting the parts comes out looking pretty the same.
