As we’ve come to a close on THE RED MOTHER I’m thinking a lot about the past year (plus) working on the project.
I can’t begin to imagine doing this without the brilliant work of artist Danny Luckert. He captured every subtle (and not so subtle) moment of this series perfectly.

We didn't have a super big budget so "Body Variants" for subtle distinguishing marks (besides color) for the bots had to be pretty small and easy to make in modeling/rigging. So we went with HYPER simple XD

I'm actually happy with how this looks. Comic will be done in this manner. I've finally managed to get a simple but moody way of coloring.

1)Base colors + Lips/eyes/etc.
2) Subtle soft gradient shading
3) Cel shaded shadows (feathered in a few places as needed)

One subtle recent QoL change to were some clean pixels for the larger rat sprites. Previously we were upscaling the smallest rat, which resulted in some upsettingly stretched pixels.
