cell shading (left) have no blending and use solid colors. Soft shading (right) is shaded using variations of color and light and more have a lot of blending

Oh of course! I normally use them for texture and use them for highlights and shadows! I color pick the Shadow or highlight and use the screen tones there! You can put them on different blending modes and lower the opacity too! IE: Exclusion, Multiply, and Overlay!
