@lassflores Team Rocket is clearly a knock off of Doronjo, a series of villains who appear in several Tatsunoko animation. Same idea, they come in to steal from the hero, then get knocked out so hard fly out in space and lose their clothing.... Team Rocket doesn't show nudity.
@Myahmyah18 @secretminingba1 Doronjo was an influence, among other similar trope characters. Originally her head was was more overtly shaped like the Decepticon symbol, but that got toned down and the Doronjo elements really came back with a vengence in the final (as you see here). So it goes!
@Izzi8bit @VoicesByZane No better demonstration of this than Doronjo and her lackeys from Yatterman
@MerlinCross ... more on that later....
But uh, I have some other examples to keep you sated!
Here we have Doronjo, Dr. Blight, Queen Tyr'Ahnee, and Risky Boots!
Doronjo and the rest of the Doronbo gang are up to their old tricks again!
If only someone could stop them!

@mana_chan__ Purrloin's always been able to stand on its hind legs. Its design is a clear reference to this character, Doronjo from Yatterman, and female "cat burglar" characters in general.
Remembering that Devilotte from Cyberbots grow to resemble Doronjo from Yatterman from the Time Bokan series reminds me that Lilith from Final Fantasy XI might not have been immune from that influence, although she's presented as more serious and successful...
