So for those wondering about some of those glorious new XTB cars - these three are based on pre-release versions of the Diaclone Omnibots (known as the Double Changers). They never made it to retail so fun to see them finally realised!

Skids's animation model head appears to be based on early Diaclone promotional concept art. The toy's head would be different... and ultimately different from the Crosscut head shown in his instructions.

In the early promotional trailer/test footage for The Transformers: The Movie, Ultra Magnus can be seen in alternate Autobot City sequences in his toy's original Diaclone color scheme, indicating the final coloration may have been a late change to the toy.
