I've seen several references to the #oldbutgold Pippi Longstocking and just need to make sure that the world knows about Mini Grey's illustrated editions, please and thank you! @Bonzetta1 #OURfPBookBlether
A1 Almost forgot this fun series, great for making links with history #OURfPBookBlether
@gdavisreads @emsreadsbooks @charlotteraby @OpenUni_RfP Never read these to a class that haven't loved them. Currently reading to my 8yo daughter and she's becoming obsessed. #OURfPBookBlether
@jonnybid @TeresaCremin @EggyHelen Some older classics and some more recent, but I love these books. Each wonderful for different reasons. I remember my year 6 teacher reading Goodnight Mister Tom and Adolphus Tips to us when I was in primary school and both were just magical experiences for me #OURfPBookBlether
@BookIslandBooks @jonnybid @catwrote I love her ‘Race to the Frozen North’. An absolutely stunning and necessary read.

@jonnybid Although well-known now due to the film, Wonder by R.J. Palacio is a great class read. Each chapter is so well crafted, giving different perspectives and prompting so many discussions. Always a winner, and now with several follow semi-sequels. #OURfPBookBlether
@SarahWeaving2 @RogMcDonald @TeresaCremin @smithsmm @jonnybid @son1bun @Jo_Bowers @Mat_at_Brookes @one_to_read @RS_Hargreaves @PaulWat5 @OpenUni_RfP Such a great choice. I love the scratchiness of the text. Think I saw one copy where it had been changed, typed. Completely different read.
Feel free to add and comment. I hope the discussion will grow overnight. #OURfPBookBlether
One of my most memorable read alouds in Y6 was based on @nicolakidsbooks and @CathyFisherArt’s ‘The Pond’. A powerful, empathetic and deeply affecting read. The children’s book talk included the themes of loss, family & the importance of the natural world.

@rcharlesworth @RogMcDonald @TeresaCremin @smithsmm @jonnybid @son1bun @Jo_Bowers @Mat_at_Brookes @one_to_read @RS_Hargreaves @PaulWat5 @OpenUni_RfP My favourite picture book to teach in KS2 is The Journey by Francesca Sanna. It is such a poetic & accessible way in to so many conversations about moral, social & political issues. It also has a brilliant interplay between the words & pictures, so much detail #OURfPBookBlether
One of my recent favourites has been David Almond & Levi Pinfold’s ‘The Dam’. It’s a beautifully crafted picturebook with themes of loss, hope and the restorative power of music. Set in Kielder Water, Northumberland.
What are some of your favourites for 7-11?
