Some relevant size comparisons between some modern and modern-ish Tyrannosaurus and modern predators, courtesy of Greg Paul, @MarkWitton, and a composite using one of Franoys’ T.rex skeletal reconstructions. Modern predators are not comparable in a combat sense.
Artist Alan Sorrell is best remembered for his castle reconstructions but his paintings of prehistory were equally evocative

@BrianEngh_Art @danielkrouse4 I used to think to be successful palaeoartist, I need to rigorously stick to skeletal reconstructions. But after becoming an actual palaeontologist, realised they're a huge niche for experimenting with styles & by extension audiences.
@TylerGreenfieId Considering how easily carried away into absurd reconstructions trends this community gets i guess all i can say is
Bothwell Castle near Glasgow (Scotland) my old watercolour reconstructions & Alan Sorrell's classic reconstruction had the site been completed to original Plan based on design elements from Coucy in France. A stronghold of the Black Douglas family. #AlanSorrell #BothwellCastle

@tutooters The Suchomimus was mostly based on this reconstruction which showed a sail more similar to Ichthyovenator than older reconstructions.
When it comes to plants it's really hard to find info. It's all over the place. I usually just look for random blogs and papers on google.
The Castles of Douglas, Strathaven, Inveravon and Abercorn all attacked or slighted in 1455 by King James II of Scots in his War against the Black Douglas family. (my old watercolour reconstructions) #ScottishCastles #HistoryRebuilt
For your enjoyment, I proudly present to you the latest in osteometallic constructions.

Oh hey, it's #sciartportfolioweek? Sick! I'm a #palaeontology student and palaeoartist, I specialise in silhouette reconstructions out of paper but I am also a digital illustrator!
