This we especially remember & honour the men of the 6th, 8th & 9th Battalions Durham Light Infantry who landed on Gold Beach in Normandy 75 years ago as part of the landings.

Disappointed I missed former player, John Harkins 1906-1908, off the roll of honour. Also I had no photograph of 'Baldy' Wilson & used a generic bald player to represent him. He wasn't bald at all! 'Baldy' was short for his christian name, Archibald.

We have a window of warship history at the Gamble Building, with poppy wreaths created by local groups. More local archives will be on display this Sunday in St Helens Town Hall (please join us following the Remembrance service) 🥀
