Hey did you know you can draft textures using smart objects :3c

I have the 'face' in a flat psb file and then I just transform it to fit over the render!

Gives a nice little preview before things are retopo'd and UV'd ;3

Can also plan out hair this way before you model

Every time I do retopology on one of my models, these images are ALWAYS up on my other monitor!!

The key to getting good at retopo is to copy others good retopo LMAO

This is a model I sculpted, retopologized, and animated for Arrowhead about a year ago, from a design by . The textures are completely placeholder.

Close! Been trying to go over and do a detail pass- hard to know what to sculpt and what to leave to texturing. She definitely needs an overall scar pass and then its time for retopology 😬

Retopology has begun! I’m trying a method by Nikolay Naydenov, and using ZBrush! So far I find it much more intuitive than other programs/methods I’ve tried. I’m making lots of progress much faster than I thought!

Went to retopo a part of the face and got a bit carried away with my Terra Model.. Well here's Terra, remastered!

Tried experimenting with ZRemesher but even with polygroups, curve guides & density painting, I elected to just manually retopo. Not sure about this edgeflow, but maybe I'm just being fussy?
Any modellers?
This is for the base mesh, I'll be doing a high poly on top of this one.

WOO! Retopo and UVS are done and fianlly painting some textures! just a rough block out but we in this bish now!

Missing hard modeled stuff like shoes, goggles spines etc, but the base has all been sculpted. Now time for the only 3D thing I'm actually genuinely good at: retopology!

Retopo is done! and the rig is roughed in! UVS and textures tomorrow :DDDD gonna use my cool new procedural stylized Substance painter textures on this! HYPE!
