Tylosaurus proriger could grow to more than 45 ft in length and tipped the scales at over 2,000 lbs. This massive predator hunted everything from seabirds to sharks in the Cretaceous seas. #FossilFriday
Tylosaurus piece officially revamped. I did want to shorten the neck, but doing that would have a gargantuan pain in the ass.
#MosasaurWeek
First and perhaps most obvious, is the sheer size of Tylosaurus. Large specimens of T. proriger likely grew to be 40 to 50 feet in length, easily making it one of the largest mosasaur species to ever live.
And here is the piece compared to my last tylosaurus, done in May of 2020. I’ve improved a lot!
It's #MosasaursWeek! Post your mosasaur work and get ready for a big fat mosasaur stream on the weekend!

And now for some #MosasaurMonday #paleoart! This time around a Tylosaurus, my favorite mosasaur, attacking a Pteranodon. Classic...poor pterosaur. Art by @arvalis, beautiful work as always. #paleontology
Me at 14 vs me at 26
My first drawing uploaded to the Internet, a Liopleurodon, against a recently drawn Tylosaurus. It's been a long way, but the path ahead is even longer😃 https://t.co/9vaX5mBL45
@BrewSolves Oh the good ol' ocean!
I guess you'd be glad to hear that you're not living at the same time as the Tylosaurus 100 mil years ago. They were such beasts (and i admire them ironically)
A Tylosaurus prioriger catches a Hesperornis regalis in the shallow inland sea of what one day will become Kansas, USA. Late Cretaceous (Maastrichtian Age 72.1-65.5 MYA). Illustration by Balint Benke. 🤓🐉
Tylosaurus and Hesperornis painting from 2018.
The composition is not the best, and it is not totally accurate, but I really enjoyed working on it.
Minecraft Tylosaurus model. Tylosaurus is a type of mosasaur(a family of marine lizards, not dinosaurs), it could grow up to 13 meters. This is part of an addon called MOSACRAFT, which will be released shortly, for free. #Minecraft #tylosaurus #addon #mcpe
@JuliotheArtist Since I’m very new to paleoart and digital art as a whole, it’s a pretty recent piece but I love the background on my Tylosaurus piece
