I'm so honored to have been commissioned by Tower Hill to paint the amazing Maria Moreira. This amaranth patch was challenging: The leaves are red green, reflect as blue and glow orange where backlit. Luckily, the pigments didn't muddy. I'll show more later!

This is how I work: building layer upon layer upon layer with glazes of oil paint, finding the areas in the painting where I need to shift the chroma, tone or saturation, varying the paint thickness between thin & impasto, each time the surface pigments become deeper & richer...
