was fascinated by the beauty & lore of the where he made many expeditions to the backcountry prospecting for gold. The grizzled prospector heading into the mountains with his trusty burro was a beloved symbol of hope & independence for DeGrazia.

On Saturday night preceding Palm Sunday, an all-night fiesta is held with processions, religious services, dancing, and the beloved Deer Dancer appears. This ceremony inspired the permanent collection "DeGrazia Paints the Yaqui Easter” which is on display year-round.
