The 1993 Famicom manual for "Kirby's Adventure" has some really awesome hand-colored sketches. The NES manual on the other hand has much more sanitized versions of same art (see for yourself in next tweet in this thread!)

Final result from practicing anime lines and cel-shaded colors using Kaguya's head as reference.
