Used a technique from a yt video where you
-hide the hues with layer in Colour mode (filled w white)
-pick random hues but focus on values
-hide top layer to discover the painting in colours :D

a simple way to draw plants is to break them down into shapes and build up detail with values. Use different layers if you fear messing up. If you are drawing a LOT of plants, break it into sections so as to not overwhelm yourself.
