SO I've had this project waiting for almost 3 MONTHS! I'm so glad I finally get to share it! I've been working on my texture painting skills a lot this year and I think it really shows in this project!

But I still have the original layers I used, so I can try giving a rushed rundown! I think the big thing that sells it really is the colors in play
Making progress on this personal project. I made a grass terrain material with Substance Designer using the texture pieces from my 3D grass. Then I decided I hated myself and hand painted out all the intersecting grass blades. Probably worth it though...👍

i wanted to do a similar thing, but with an oil painting texture. but then i liked his face too much wwwwwww
@kak_dc Been working more with textures, undefined ideas, luminal spaces that can/not exist. Along side statues.
There were a few exceptions where we used actual texture detail alongside gradients just to inform the player what a big flat plane was made out of.
at one point we had these bunuelos you could eat. don't think this made it into the final game though hah. All of these use gradient texturing.
