#SharkWeek Day 2: Lemon Shark (Near Threatened)
They are known for their yellow-ish color. Interestingly, they are hosts to many parasites
Threats include being caught commercially on longlines. They are eaten in the United States, and Central and South America. #sharkweek2019

In 1681, Antonie van Leeuwenhoek became the first person to see the giardia parasite, by looking in his own stool. His work in microscopy revolutionized the way we see the world (cue "A Whole New World").
Portrait by Jan Verkolje, 1680s. From Rijksmuseum, Wellcome Collection.
here she is! wishbone, guardian of gummy+keeper. She has the same parasite as keeper, though a different subspecies. She lives on the outskirts of a small town. likes to keep to herself, shes pretty cynical but not so much that she was willing to let kids wander the forest alone
this is Keeper, gummys sibling and a "unicorn" kelpie, her 'horn' is actually a type of parasite that lodges itself in its hosts brain and acts as a pituitary gland, regulating the hosts body to sustain it, she was cast out from her lake family and taken in by a jackalope woman

One cute Adventure Time detail that they never really talk about but helps build the world a ton is the scientific parasite. It's this little pink organism that lives in the pockets of smart people and feeds on their brainwaves.
