Same here not a single mech in stardust memory is a bad design and the battles are so well done. Even if the character arcs are ass, the manga more than makes up for it. Overall it still remains my top 5 favorite gundam series

Rio, a mecha pilot whose mech I'll draw someday maybe. She's deaf and rarely speaks, but has visual systems in her helmet & mech that more than make up for it. Even out of her gear, some might say she's got eyes on the back of her head.

They both seem to have a scorpion body plan and I'm pretty sure I'm not imagining it because I remember from having read The Ultimate Lego Book about 500 times that Dinotopia: The World Beneath was an inspiration for Rock Raiders and they specifically call out the scorpion mech
