I wanted to do something like those start-of-chapter illustrations some Dragonball chapters have, and practice Toriyama-style environments too. I’m happy with the results, but it sure took a while to figure out!

Well my style is like a blend of astro boy and Akira Toriyama :) plus lately I’ve mastered that 90s cell animation coloring, and stuff has been popping off for me !

-Say what you will about Ohkubo, but his style is peak 2000’s aesthetic.
-Toriyama’s work is iconic period, but I adore the simpler, rounded look of his 80’s work.
-Go Nagai; love the sideburns and bushy eyebrows.
-Monkey Punch is peak cartoony exaggeration. Classic stuff.
