[Smear] makes it so brushes can blend without adversely affecting its texture. It generally benefits brushes that couldn't have their mixing enabled before because of the way they messed with the pixels underneath.

I think "smear" is kind of the opposite of what it does.

Detail crops of recent work. I'm experimenting with some additional layer settings & color management to give my drawings additional texture. Some of these I've learned from studying art I've commissioned from IDW colorists. I'm still finding the right balance.
