One final bit of watercolor that I think serves as a subtle improvement. Next step will be going back over the black line art (which got muddled up in this process) and then adding some white ocean mist.

The front-end all looks to be pretty similar. Some more subtle shading and less-saturated colours on the DOS port. 🤔 I really wish I could work out how to get the Gravis Ultrasound sound working, cos I despise Soundblaster MIDI music with a passion. But theres that SVGA option..

In the intro it's all pretty subtle. There's a little cropping top and bottom in the DOS version, due to the lower vertical resolution. The sprites and sound seem to be unchanged, but all the backgrounds look like they've have a bit of subtle refresh and enhance. Nice. 👍

Color transforms a piece so much! It can be hard to say farewell to the grisaille version, because the quiet subtlety of it is so pleasing, and it (by intention) can look so finished... but oh, color! It’s not glowing yet like I want it to, but I can see the path forward now.✨
