Lockdown art number 2
I’ve been practicing my digital art skills over the last few days with this not so quick sketch of Kiki from ‘Kiki’s Delivery Service.’ Still got a way to go when it comes to painting in colour values but I can feel my overall workflow improving.
Some vague values (mostly just did this so u know his hair is danger days red ok? Ok)
I did some combined studies. Chicken-anatomy, Values, Painting in general + B/W to Colour =w=
And the result is my favourite queen.

Conflicted over the icon for my comic. The original is of course my fave but it’s dark and hard to make out in a small thumbnail. I played with color values and it looks more vintage anyway but it also looks like I lightened Regina’s skin which I don’t want

💻 The exact values are not yet measured. We've tried it on 8 y.o. MacBook and Windows mini-PC with Intel Atom Z8750. But, if you want to make complex levels, get ready to use modern computer with discrete GPU, compatible with OpenGL 3.3+

This new Strathmore paper is amazing, the pencil just slides so easily.
Unfortunately it's quite hard to render out a lot of details and Values within the 15 min poses.

Coloring process. Flats. Added some shadows and highlights and a watercolor texture on another layer. Did some slight tweaking to values and a few subtle color holds on the line art. Also reduced the opacity of the texture layer.
Day 1285: Rough Draft! I'm actually really happy with how this is turning out. It's taken a few passes to get here, and I'm sure when I have my next session there will bea lot of glaring flaws I need to look at, but the colors and values are heading where I want them to! :D
