There's a lot of fun queer subtext to the Darkstalkers games but maybe an under-emphasized bit of it is how they made Rikuo 1) gay as a pride float based on this win pose but also 2) kinda hunky for a Creature From the Black Lagoon-typed mermonster.

Darkstalkers has, in my opinion, the best roster in any fighting game design wise. Every character here is iconic, & even decades after its last release people still recognize characters like Felicia, Morrigan, & Jon Talbain on sight.
