Practice! The first models I rigged had very little amount of layers, with time and trial and errors I know learn how to manage more layers
For example my first models only used 3 layers for the mouth. The one I working on now has 7 (6 if you don't count the optional piercings)

I'm really proud of the progress I've made over the past year. After getting CSP and learning to use vector layers, drawing has gotten a lot easier for me, which in turn has allowed me to improve quite a bit.
