When you combine the two separate layers (VALUES & FLAT) together as OVERLAY (under 'layer properties' in Photoshop) along with the LINE-ART), and make some minor tweaks to the values and color saturation you get this result!

Despite this year having been rough for me mentally, I made a lot of progress with my art this year. I learned how to work with color values and lighting (although I still need to practice a lot) and put more effort into drawing backgrounds as well.

sort of like a quickey concept attempt for a Revenantika comic I had in my head and experimenting with black/white values ...Apparently I have only 1 interest and I'm going all in. Uk'otoa's gotta retrieve that cloven crystal somehow eh?

10 minute pause and paints..should start doing more of these again. A great exercise to get warmed up. Most of these are from the ballad of Buster Scruggs. Such a hilarious and interesting movie. Check it out on Netflix.
