‘Chasetown, an old coal mining town where I went to school in the 80’s’
@Cavalorn I’m very old and I remember the morning ice inside the windows but what they conveniently forget is that the coal bunker was never empty, the bedroom fires were lit on the coldest nights, & only the bother of it kept them from being lit a lot more.
Happy Fossil Fools Day!

@freesmellsinc Born albino to a well off family, Kell was on track to finish school and work as a Jeweler. Then her parents attempted to fix her Albinism with a miracle cure. Turns out all it did was give her a skunk tail and ears. Now she works in a coal mine cause society is racist.

On his throne of roots, half-corpse half-tree, Lord Brynden seemed less a man than some ghastly statue made of twisted wood, old bone,& rotted wool. The only thing that looked alive in the pale ruin that was his face was his one red eye, burning like the last coal in a dead fire.
By the late 1890s, a group of Finnish immigrants working in coal mines on #VancouverIsland were looking for a better life. They set up a colony on #MalcolmIsland and called it #Sointula, which means “place of harmony” in Finnish. https://t.co/oPQlzUjbWx

There is a coal-black Angel
[…]
And he dwells (like the hunted and harried)
In a swamp where the green frogs dip.
[…]
He breathes with a breath that is blastment
And dooms by a far decree.
[…]
There’s a scream that screams up to the zenith
