OHHHH my goodness I finally got it to work!

I managed to get the gahddamn particles to fade in and out while STILL using Blender Render engine nodes!

Every tutorial I could find does it with shader nodes, which are only available under Cycles. Turned out I didn't need either!

I also do a lot of vector art, which is point/click nodes, so me + a mouse/trackpad more than drawing. So while my sketches are digitally "drawn", I don't often raster draw/color and have that be the final piece, and its usual pretty sketchy when I do lol

It's an evolution of the nodes from earlier, thanks to some improvements in 3.1 it's actually a sensible thing to do now (Thank god the Instance on Points keeps attributes intact now!)
