It’s actually completely flat, much like the original PS1 model, just with different textures.

It’s closer to how Paper Mario got more detailed past the 64 games, save TTYD and SPM having key framed individual animated body parts.

I add textures just to clothing/fabrics because of FE Fates, with sometimes additional textures in the shadows too
Then I've started doing that little cheek/nose shine and chin gradient because of FE3H
